Now it is a slide that has remained broken for more than four months due to “budget problems,” according to one of the women who works in City Hall. When I asked if this was something that should be discussed with City Council, she said that the council was probably one of the major reasons it wasn’t fixed yet (budget problems, of course).
Well, I guess when some City Council members make (high) salaries for what is essentially a part-time job, things like libraries and slides — excuse me, pieces of art — must suffer.
Get it together, Escondido City Council: If you’re not going to give us our library hours any time soon, at least give the kids a place to play. Fix the grape.
