Tijuana Adult Entertainment: Newberry to speak at Tulsa Walk to Stop Child Trafficking
Newberry said the event plays an important role in heightening awareness of child trafficking.
“As lawmakers, one of our greatest responsibilities is to ensure that children and other vulnerable citizens are protected from predators,” said Newberry, R-Tulsa. “This event not only raises awareness but provides the resources needed to help eliminate the crime. These children need our help, and I encourage everyone to attend the event and learn more about what we can do to put a stop to child trafficking.”
Child trafficking is one of the fastest-growing crimes in the world.
The United Nations values the global market of child trafficking at $12 billion annually, with 1.2 million child victims.
Children are transported through force and coercion for various purposes, including sexual exploitation, migrant work, forced labor, prostitution and pornography.
