Tijuana Escorts: Can’t Miss It: Thursday
SINGING SOUTH: Seattle has its share of old-timey, western frontier charm. We all know the mountain man, the lumberjack, the Pioneer Square badasses, tough guys and prostitutes. But when it comes to tunes that pulse with historic red, white, and blue, it’s a tall task to mess with Texas. (The Northwest might be doing more for roots music than any other region in the country, but thoughts of Seattle will conjure grunge for years to come.) If tonight’s offering from The Tractor Tavern is any indication, however, we’ve got plenty of resources to throw at that tall task. The Ballard venue presents “Messin’ With Texas: Seattle Bands Sing Songs of the Lone Star State,” featuring members of Visqueen, Shim, Widower, Pablo Trucker, The Longwinters, The Maldives, The Head & the Heart, and others. This is a benefit show for MusiCares, an organization that “provides a safety net of critical assistance for music people in times of need.” Riding into the Northwest sunset may be about as likely as spotting Bigfoot in Dallas, but tonight The Tractor Tavern will feel just like the heart of Texas.
